Accounting Systems Manager/Trainer

Broad and Cassel, a Florida based law firm with 8 office locations and 165 attorneys, has an immediate opening for a Accounting Systems Manager/Trainer in our Orlando, FL office.

Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Train accounting systems personnel on use of Elite and other software programs, including task based billing, and create and prepare training materials
    • Identify and implement best practices for process improvement, and work with accounting departments to ensure that related software tools are being fully utilized
    • Assist accounting personnel with running a variety of reports
    • Research and resolve problems which may arise during day-to-day operation of Elite
    • Serve as internal project manager for all Elite and other financial systems related products
    • Prepare various management reports as needed
    • Handle monthly and year-end system balancing
    • Oversee upload of information from third party software products into Elite
    • Work with IT to upgrade and resolve technical issues

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from four year college or university
    • 5+ years of experience in Elite Enterprise (ELBS, FMS, Conflicts) application
    • Knowledge of DTE, Whitehill Enterprise, Minisoft, IQ/My Eureka, Extend, FRx, and nQueue Billback Cost Recovery, preferred
    • Experience writing complex SQL statements
    • MS Excel and PowerPoint
    • Solid knowledge of cost accounting and financial accounting
    • Strong problem solving/analytical skills
    • Core hours are 8:30 – 5:30, with availability to work extended hours required. This is an exempt level position.
    • Travel may be required

Conflicts Administrator

Broad and Cassel, a Florida law firm with 165 attorneys and 8 office locations, is searching for a Conflicts Administrator to be based in the Orlando office. As part of our Central Administration Department, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. The Conflicts Administrator is responsible for minimizing risk to the Firm by strategically centralizing the conflicts processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Process, research, and resolve all firmwide conflict checks
    • Define complex search strategies and generate related conflict reports
    • Analyze conflict reports, examine conflicts database for accurate client/matter/related parties information, and make initial judgments about conflicts search results
    • Manage waivers of conflicts with appropriate documentation follow-ups
    • Identify the Firm's strengths and weakness relating to the conflicts process/ assessment of current conflicts process

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; J.D. a plus
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
    • Excellent research skills and ability to legally analyze situations in order to propose resolutions
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
    • Work hours are 9am – 6pm; however, work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position

Systems Engineer

Broad and Cassel is searching for a Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience to be based in the Orlando office. Continual travel and heavy lifting required.

Technical skills and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with network configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Assists with the running of daily virus scanning and downloads/install & updates virus list as they become available
  • Design and maintain workstation images
  • Document updates of new software installation instructions
  • Follow documented processes for change control and patch management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office configurations and integration with 3rd party software
  • Performs all roll out of new systems, which includes installation of workstations and software for all hardware of the firm.
  • Performs all user and group account oriented management
  • Performs daily general server checklist
  • Performs notebook/laptop installation, maintenance and checkout
  • Responsible for configuring and maintain print services within network
  • Serves as Helpdesk level two contact with all members of the firm, in the resolution of workstation hardware and software related problems
  • Working knowledge of application packaging and deployment methodologies
  • Ability to acquire any other related skill set required, supporting the duties of the position
  • Ability to identify and remedy of cross-application and versioning conflicts

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware, software and licenses
  • Organizational skills in facilitating status updates and knowledge sharing

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of current software applications (I.E. Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office XP, PCDocs, Outlook, Windows Server based Operating Systems). Three years of progressively responsible work experience with Networked based computer systems or two years of formal education in Computer Technology. Mastery of troubleshooting techniques.

Ability to rapidly analyze issues, establish priorities, anticipate consequences, make decisions and initiate action. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to maintain effective relationships with Broad and Cassel staff. Ability to adapt to constantly changing environment and responsibilities. Knowledge and abilities to work in a LAN/WAN and computer networks.
