Job Opportunities for Youth - South Florida Workforce

Youth Services

Designed to target low-income, at-risk youth between the ages of 14 & 21 who face barriers to employment & educational achievement.

The South Florida Workforce assists at-risk youths between the ages of 14-21 to continue their education and training in order to advance their skills and pursue the best jobs possible. In-School and Out-Of-School programs are run through Career Centers and select schools offering the "In-School" Program. Some of the services offerred through our Youth Programs include: comprehensive assessment and career guidance / planning, leadership development opportunities, life skills, work readiness training and pre-employment skills training.

In-School Youth Program
Our In-School Youth Program (ISY) offers young adults who are enrolled in school and are between the ages of 14 and 21, a wide variety of academic and employment related services. The In-School Youth Program provides participating students with services that include, but are not limited to: counseling, academic tutoring, leadership development activities, school year internships, paid summer work experience, and many other resources that remedy the factors that put them at risk. Out-of-School Programs
Our Out-of-School Youth Program (OSY) assists young adults between the ages of 16 to 21, who have either dropped out of school or have graduated from high school, but are in need of employment, training to prepare for the workplace, or are
exploring career paths. For a list click here.

Special Programs:
Youth with disabilities and the ex-offender programs are designed to ensure that special segments of the youth population have access to all of the services available through the youth program. Youth with disabilities and ex-offenders are afforded quality youth services through educational and employment activities and training customized to meet their special needs.

Job Corps
Job Corps is the nation's largest and most comprehensive residential and non-residential education and career training program for young adults ages 16 through 24.
